The Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga Tennessee is known for being the largest freshwater aquarium in the world. The Chattanooga riverboat cruise takes you down the Tennessee River on a enormous high speed catamaran boat called the Tennessee Aquarium’s River Gorge Explorer. The sleek riverboat features a wonderful guide who points out historic sites along the river and many of the indigenous species. Riverboat prices range from approximately 30 dollars for adults to 22 dollars for children over three years of age. The riverboat cruise is approximately 2 hours however they do have a scenic and breathtakingly beautiful long three hours sunset cruise. Reservations are recommended, however adverse weather conditions can cancel cruise times.
Ticket prices include a discount Aquarium and 3D IMAX combo that is approximately 30 dollars for adults and 20 dollars for children.
The whole adventure package which includes the IMAX, Aquarium and River Gorge Explorer Cruise is approximately 54 dollars for adults and 38 dollars for children over age three.
The Aquarium only however is approximately 25 dollars for adults and 15 dollars for children. The Aquarium price includes however the River and Ocean Journey buildings.
Of course being so close to Fort Campbell they have many discounts such as military, seniors and even discounted group rates.
The Aquarium opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m. The Aquarium’s gift shop closes at 6:30 p.m. Both the IMAX and the Aquarium are open year round except for Thanksgiving and Christmas day.
