Kids these days are so lucky. Much luckier than they were when I was a kid. This coming weekend, on Saturday, October 24th from 11 am onwards the San Francisco Public Library and Friends of the Public Library are hosting the Second Annual Tricycle Music Fest West. The music fest is an outdoor concert of sorts for the little ones with music the grown-ups will enjoy as well given the line up of musicians and bands expected to be there.
The steps of the Main Library are going to be transformed into a stage and the kids will be able to “rock-out”, dance and sing along to popular bands they have probably already seen all over the Bay Area. Featured bands include:
- Frances England
- The Sippy Cups
- The Time Outs
- Charity Kahn
- The Devil-Ettes and Pip Squeak a Go Go
The best part is that all this will not cost you a dime provided you can find some free parking in the area. The Civic Center area has a large public underground parking lot which has reasonably priced parking. Alternatively, you can make it a more fun adventure by taking public transportation. Pack a picnic or grab a quick bite to eat at one of the many nearby family-friendly restaurants on Hayes Street such as Stacks, Frjtz Fries or Arlequin Cafe.
In addition, the San Francisco public libraries all over the city host a wide array of programming for children which is worth checking out if you are looking for some fun, free and educational activities for your children.
