Are you looking for a fun place to hang out in the gay district of Dallas, Texas without having to go to a bar? Well, here are two of the best hang outs in the Dallas Oaklawn District. You can drink, eat, and meet lots of people, all this while you enjoy the atmosphere. So, if you are ready for a fun time, visit one of these two places in the Dallas Oaklawn District during Gay Pride Weekend. Here is what you can expect when you get there:
Lots of people. This grill is bigger than it looks, and it stays packed with people at night. People usually come and stay for awhile, so get there early during Gay Pride Weekend if you want a seat on the patio. If you are by yourself, ask to share a table with some of the patrons. The people who frequent Hunky’s Hamburgers seem extra friendly.
Neighborly setting. You can hold an intimate conversation while you’re at Hunky’s because you do not have to put up with booming music. You can sit outside on the patio and watch the happenings at the surrounding bars. Basically, this is the place to go for a good burger, intimate conversation, and some gay sight seeing. This is a premium place to watch the Gay Pride Parade.
If you’re not gay, don’t worry about it. The gay patrons of Oaklawn respect a person’s right to be straight as much as they hope you respect their right to be gay. Oaklawn is a friendly neighborhood, so make Hunky’s your first choice for a hang out during Gay Pride Weekend. You’ll be glad that you did.
Quick food. The prices at Hunky’s Hamburgers in Dallas, Texas are low for the high quality food Hunky’s serves. You can get just about any type of burger here that you want, and they have delicious Club Sandwiches. (Hunky’s French Fries are substandard, though.) So, grab you a spot on the patio, order up some good food, and enjoy the fun.
Snookie’s Bar and Grill
Booming music. Don’t count on holding much intimate conversation while you’re at Snookie’s bar and grill. They always play booming music, and you have to scream to hear yourself. They do play good music, but they do need to turn down the volume about five or six notches to allow for some friendly communion that usually takes place in such a bar and grill.
You can ask them to turn down the music, but it just won’t happen, so save your breath and sit back and take it in. Still, though, this is one place you don’t want to miss during Gay Pride weekend in the Oaklawn District of Dallas, Texas. This place is full of socializing. Take some money, though. This place can get expensive.
Quick food. The food prices are good at Snookie’s in the Oaklawn District of Dallas, Texas, but the food is not always the standard it needs to be. Sometimes, the food is excellent, but you never know from one hour to the next if you will get quality-cooked food, or something just quickly tossed out at you.
If you’ve been drinking awhile, though, the food serves its purpose. If you go into Snookie’s specifically for the food, however, you might be disappointed. If your food isn’t right, turn it back immediately so you won’t have to pay for it because complaints to the manager do you no good. You’d be better off just ordering a drink or two and enjoying the camaraderie during Gay Pride Weekend.
