Central Library almost always has a bunch of cool stuff going on, and this weekend is no different.
Sunday, for example, presents two opportunities to enjoy some creative and artistic events.
First, at 1:30 Central Library presents an installment of the Silent Film Series: Mary Pickford in Daddy Long Legs, in celebration of Adoption month. This 85 minute silent 1919 film is an adaptation of Jean Webster’s novel and play in which a girl who grows up in an orphanage is given a college education by an anonymous benefactor who asks only for monthly letters of her progress. Get a little taste of cinematic history with this silent film accompanied by live piano.
Then at 4:00, enjoy Classical Interludes: Inesa Sinkenych. Sinkenych will perform works of Beethoven, Albeniz, Debussy, and Chopin. Important Note: “In order to permit audiences to enjoy our Classical Interludes programs without disturbance, we will no longer allow children under the age of 6 to attend.”
Central Library is located at 1 Grand Army Plaza. For more information about the library, click here.
