Dana White and UFC are giving us another treat. UFC 122 will be shown free on Spike TV on November 13 at ten PM Eastern. This is another brilliant marketing scheme by Dana White. He gave us UFC 120 for free and UFC 121 broke records for Pay Per View. Watching Cain Velasquez pound the UFC Heavyweight Championship from Brock Lesnar was a great treat in itself. Now Dana White gives us UFC 122 for free on Spike TV hoping all UFC fans will tune in to UFC 123 to watch Machida vs. Rampage/Hughes vs. Penn III. This ingenious marketing scheme by Dana White may pay off in the long run. The only thing I have to say about these free events is maybe Dana White can throw in a few better fights with the free events.
Nate Marquardt vs. Yushin Okami-Nate Marquardt has been on a roll. The only fight he has lost in the past five fights was to steroids infested Chael Sonnen. The fight against Chael Sonnen won fight of the night honors. Nate Marquardt is a great UFC fighter always working his way up the ranks in the UFC’s middleweight division. Yushin Okami also lost to the steroids infested Chael Sonnen. Both fighters have beaten some of the best middleweights in the UFC. I would give the advantage in this fight to Nate Marquardt, but you never know. Nate Marquardt seems to be a better fighter on paper, but this doesn’t always matter in the UFC. This fight will be the determination of which one of these two UFC fighters will be the #1 contender in the Middleweight division. The winner will likely fight the winner of the Anderson Silva/Victor Belfort fight which takes place in February of 2011 at UFC 126. Look for this to be a great free fight shown on Spike TV.
Alessio Sakara vs. Jorge Rivera-Alessio Sakara is a well versed middleweight in the UFC. He is coming into UFC 121 with a three fight win streak. He is good on his feet and on decent the ground. Jorge Rivera is also on a three fight win streak. Both men are very good UFC fighters. Both fighters had injuries which postponed their most recent fights. If both men stay healthy they will meet up to fight each other at UFC 122. Both men can punch and this should be a very good match up.
Dennis Siver vs. Andre Winner-Dennis is a pretty good (not well known) UFC fighter. He beat Spencer Fisher in his last fight at the Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale. Andre Winner was one of the British fighters who fought into the house at the Ultimate Fighter 9. He lost in the finale to Ross Pearson. Dennis Siver has the advantage because he is more experienced than Winner coming into this fight. Hopefully these two fighters give 110% and make UFC 122 more exciting.
Amir Sadollah vs. Peter Sobotta-Amir Sadollah was the surprise Ultimate Fighter 7 winner over CB Dollaway. Amir Sadollah is a pretty decent young UFC fighter. He lost his last fight, but won’t let it get him down. Peter Sobotta is a UFC fighter I have never heard of. He lost his last two fights and I believe Sadollah will take care of him at UFC 122. This is only the third fight for Peter in the UFC. I believe it may be three strikes and you are out for the German fighter.
Goran Rejic vs. Krzysztof Soszynski-Goran Rejic lost his past two fights in the UFC after his good start when he knocked out Wilson Gouveia at UFC 84. He is moving back to the light heavyweight division where he feels more comfortable. Krzysztof Soszynski should be a decent challenge for Goran Rejic. Soszynski fought in the Ultimate Fighter 8. He lost in the Semifinals, but fought pretty good fights. This is another one of those fights that I cannot guess who will win. I just hope these two fighters bring some excitement to UFC 122.
Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Alexandre Ferreira
Pascal Krauss vs. Mark Scanlon
Nick Osipczak vs. Duane ‘Bang’ Ludwig
Kyle Noke vs. Rob Kimmons
Karlos Vemola vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha
UFC 122 will be live in Germany and on Spike TV on November 13, 2010 at Ten Eastern time. Dana White decided to give UFC fans a free pre-thanksgiving treat. Some people may consider a card like this a trick, but it is free. It would be smart to tune your television to Spike TV on November thirteen to check out these fights. The main event with Nate Marquardt vs. Yushin Okami should be a great fight and has championship ramifications. The rest of the fights may surprise all of us. We sure hope so.
