Air travel is by far the best mode of transportation when going from one time zone to another, but it sure has its down falls. One of those pitfalls is the fact that I always seem to get sick when I travel on airplanes, as I don’t think the air quality is the best and there are so many passengers from different parts of the world on board.
Such was the case when I flew from Alaska to Louisiana recently. Sure enough, a week later I came down with a nasty head cold. I nipped it in the bud by using Zicam immediately, but when the sinus pressure just would not go away, I picked up some Up & Up Nasal Decongestant PE at the local Target store.
Comparing itself to the active ingredient in Sudafed PE, Up & Up Nasal Decongestant PE comes in a white and green colored box containing 36 tablets. The pills are small, round and red (just like the original Sudafed I took many years ago). For those who have problems swallowing pills, you will be pleased to know that the actual size is printed right on the front of the box, these measure just over one fourth of an inch in diameter, so they are very easy for me to swallow.
Up & Up Nasal Decongestant PE claims to relieve nasal and sinus congestion and sinus pressure. This medication does not contain pseudoephedrine, which is now found only by prescription or behind the pharmacy counter (and you have to sign for this medication).
Up & Up Nasal Decongestant PE comes blister packed in two foil sheets, and the small pills are very easy to punch out. The active ingredient is 10 milligrams of phenylephrine HCL, which is a nasal decongestant. It not only claims to temporarily relieve sinus congestion and pressure from the common cold, but claims to relieve these same symptoms that are caused by hay fever and other upper respiratory allergies.
Along with using Up & Up Nasal Decongestant PE, I also boiled some water on the stove top, which put some much needed moisture into the air, and I inhaled the steam as well, giving moisture to my sinus cavities. I took one 10 mg Up & Up Nasal Decongestant PE twice the first day, and my painful sinus condition was greatly diminished. My sinus cavities started to drain, and I was able to clear them out easily with a tissue.
I have suffered from sinus problems most of my adult life, and have used Sudafed as well as prescription strength nasal decongestants, but when I compare them to what this Up & Up Nasal Decongestant PE did for me, I can say that I am quite pleased with the Up & Up brand, which is sold and distributed by Target Corporation. When I think that I paid about half of what the name brand medication costs, that makes me a very happy consumer indeed!
