So from the Halloween TV specials of some of your favorite series to movies and the best Halloween attractions in America, don’t miss the Halloween-themed shows coming your way during the first week of October 2010:
Halloweentown – Disney – Monday, October 4, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. ET – Here’s one of the best Halloween TV specials for the kids, and a perennial favorite. When a girl discovers her aunt is a witch and secretly follows her to Halloweentown, will she become a witch herself (against her mother’s wishes) in order to save the day? It may not exactly be Harry Potter, but the world full of witchcraft here should still bewitch the little ones.
Halloween: H2O – FX – Monday, October 4, 2010 at 11:00 p.m. ET – Here’s another of the upcoming TV specials that’s actually a movie (however, the kids’ fare above might be more enjoyable than this one). At least Jamie Lee Curtis returns to face off against Michael, and is interesting to see her scream queen mother, Janet Leigh, make an appearance.
America Haunts – The Travel Channel – Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. ET – These are some of the most enjoyable Halloween TV specials for those that love haunted houses, as they showcase some of the best in the nation and offer a sneak peek at what goes on behind the scenes. So be sure not to miss these Halloween TV specials that will help you find a fun and frightening attraction to visit near you.
Halloweentown 2: Kalabar’s Revenge – Disney – Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. ET – And here’s the second in the series of these Halloween TV specials aimed at kids. In this one, the son of the villain from the last tries to exact revenge on the residents of Halloweentown and the mortal realm by turning them into caricatures of one another. It’s easy to guess how it all ends, but there’s plenty of Halloween fun to be had before the day gets saved yet again.
The Office: Koi Pond – TBS – Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. ET – This is one of the Halloween TV specials here that doesn’t focus all that much on Halloween, but it’s definitely worth watching to see Michael’s version of a haunted house at the beginning and the officemates’ hilarious Halloween costumes.
Halloweentown High – Disney – Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. ET – The third of the Halloweentown Halloween TV specials sees Marnie the witch becoming a teenager and inviting some Halloweentown high school students to attend a mortal school with her in an effort to bring the two realms closer together. And, of course, things don’t go as planned, with Marnie and her family’s magical abilities on the line if her idea fails. So can she find out who is sabotaging her attempt at peace between the two worlds in order to stay a witch? (Take a wild guess.)
Scary Movie – E! – Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. ET – It just wouldn’t be Halloween without this horrible horror movie spoof, although it might be even harder to watch with all those commercial interruptions.
Return to Halloweentown – Disney – Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. ET – The latest of these Halloween TV specials has witch Marnie attending a college in Halloweentown with her brother. This time she has to protect a mysterious power known as The Gift from an evil group up to no good called The Dominion. Predictable again, but a magical movie for kids that can’t get enough witchcraft and magical creatures.
Scrubs: My Big Brother – Comedy – Friday, October 8, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. ET – The scariest thing about this Halloween TV special for J.D. is that his brother shows up and shakes things in his life up. However, you’ve definitely got to check out Turk and J.D.’s creative Halloween costumes and find out who the mystery ape hanging around the hospital is.
America Haunts 2 – The Travel Channel – Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. ET – Another of the many Halloween TV specials to check out on the Travel Channel explores more of the nation’s best haunted houses.
America’s Scariest Halloween Attractions – The Travel Channel – Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 11:00 p.m. ET – It’s basically the ‘America Haunts’ TV specials with another name, with one of the attractions this show focuses on being Thrillvania Thrill Park in Texas.
So from movies to Halloween-themed episodes of your favorite series to shows that will help you find something to do this Halloween, the upcoming Halloween TV specials of the first week of October 2010 will help get you fired up for some Halloween fun.
