Waller Street transforms into a vibrant marketplace every Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. since it started on April 28 of this year. Several farmers and producers travel an average of 90 miles to Upper Haight Farmers’ Market, located at Kezar Stadium parking lot at the intersection of Waller and Stanyan streets. You’ll find an assortment of fruits, vegetables, flowers, honey, kettle corn and other produce items. Since the closure of Cala Foods in 2005, the neighborhood had been clamoring for a produce market. Luckily, through the sponsorship of the Haight Ashbury Improvement Association, the Upper Haight Farmers’ Market became a reality.
The Upper Haight Farmers’ Market season is from April 28, 2010 to Oct. 27, 2010, on Wednesdays, from 4 to 8 p.m. Go to http://www.pcfma.com/market_producers.php?market_id=41 for a list of participating vendors.
