If you like to watch all of your favorite sports team’s games, you may be able to add their calendar to the Outlook Calendar. If your favorite sports team has an “iCal” URL or a downloadable schedule, you may place it into Outlook.
To do so, follow these steps:
Visit your team’s website, locate the .csv file, download and save the file.
For those of you ready for the Arizona Cardinals’ Football season, click here to download the schedule for Outlook. (NOTE: Currently the 2010-2011 schedule has not been posted by the Cardinals.)
NOTE: To locate the downloadable file on your team’s website, visit the current season’s schedule first. Once on the schedule page, you will need to look for “.csv” or “downloadable schedule.” Some team’s have not created .ics formats for their schedules. If your team does not have one, you may want to send an e-mail to them recommending they add one.
In Outlook 2007, you will need to locate the iCal URL on your team’s website.
Click on Tools | Account Settings and click on “New” on the “Internet Calendars” Tab.
Paste the URL on the screen and click “Add.”
In the Folder Name box, type a name for the Calendar.
Click “OK” and then click Close.
You will notice your team’s schedule is now listed in your available calendars.
Outlook 2003 (and previous versions):
With Outlook 2003, you will need the downloadable schedule in a .CSV format.
Locate, download, and save the appropriate team’s .CSV schedule.
Open Outlook and click on File | Import and Export.
Choose “Import from another program or file” and click Next.
Select “Comma Separated Values (Windows)” and click Next.
Click on Browse to locate the downloaded .CSV file and choose “Do not import duplicate items” and click Next.
Select Calendar and click Next.
The next window will inform you that you are about to import the specific .CSV file. Click on “Map Custom Fields” to match the fields in Outlook to the fields in the downloadable file. You will need to click and drag the appropriate headers to match the header names within Outlook.
NOTE: If the field names match Outlook, this may be completed for you.
Once you have matched the fields, click “OK” and then click “Finish.”
You should now see the schedule within your Outlook Calendar.
