Vampires have been admired and loved for generations. Experts believe that society’s fascination with vampires stems from our unconscious desire to live without fear of consequences. Erzsebet, also known as Elizabeth, would torture and kill young virgin girls in order to bathe in their blood so she could retain her youthful appearance. Bathory was sentenced to confinement in her castle for her crimes. Four years into her punishment, she died due to natural causes.
