I had the pleasure of staying at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona with my family. This resort is situated on 250 acres and contains 10 restaurants and lounges, 3 championship golf courses, a world renowned spa, tennis, and shopping. And, let’s not forget the pools. There are 2 children’s pools and a 165′ twisting water slide. The Canyon Suites pool is an edgeless pool for the entire family to enjoy. This resort has everything you will need to have the perfect vacation without ever having to leave the resort. It’s great for families and couples craving a romantic getaway.
My family of 6 stayed in a 2-bedroom Casitas Suite. It was pure luxury from the moment we walked into the room. We not only had 2 bedrooms, but 3 baths, a parlor, and a dining area. There were 3 terraces, and a gorgeous travertine fireplace in the living area. Because we were in a suite, we had doorstep parking, and a view of the tranquil Necklace Lake. The Phoenician also offers: 3 different guest rooms, 2 other Casitas suites, and 5 suites. They accomodate couples, to large families, and cover many different price ranges.
We had the pleasure of dining at all the restaurants on the property. Our favorite was the Relish Burger Bistro. It had a great, family atmosphere, and the biggest selection of burgers and shakes you have ever seen on a menu. We enjoyed the Hawaiian burger, the Bleu burger, and the Turkey Apple burger. The peanutbutter shake was like heaven in your mouth. It was rich and creamy, and devoured by everyone in my family. Other dining options include: J&G Steakhouse, Il Terrazzo and the Lobby Tea Court.
We did a lot of shopping at the resorts 6 specialty shops. We found resort wear at the Branding Iron, and picked up tee shirts for the entire crew. The kids also loved visiting Pinatas. This shop had everything from candy and sunscreen to magazines and toys.
The best part about the whole trip was taking advantage of the gorgeous pools at the resort. We could splash around with the kids and slide down the massive water slide, or relax in the Canyon Suites pool. The best thing about the pool area, is that each lounge chair comes with a little flag attached to the top of it. You simply put your flag up if you would like a cocktail or to order something off the poolside menu. Now, that’s luxury! You can lay in your chair without ever having to move if that’s what you crave.
I highly recommend the Phoenician Resort. We had a great family vacation, and enjoyed the hot Arizona sun in a beautiful, relaxed setting. For reservations, visit http://www.thephoenician.com/overview
