UCSF’s Children’s Hospital was renamed in June of 2010 due to $100 million given by Salesforce.com founder Marc Benioff. The newly named UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital at the Mission Bay Campus is currently seeking volunteers in the Dogpatch and Potrero neighborhoods.
Benioff Children’s Hospital specializes in the long-term hospitalization of children. During their stay at the hospital, they need specialized education services for the duration of their treatments. Volunteer efforts are coordinated by the Marie Wattis School. Marie Wattis is an on-site SFUSD K-12 school that is fully accredited and located at the children’s hospital.

In addition to supporting efforts like the ones at Marie Wattis, the SFPHES also creates helpful legislative materials like the Chinatown Restaurant Worker Report that was released in September, 2010.
