The Washington Redskins and Donovan McNabb will take on the New York Giants in the Meadowlands December 5th in what could be a a fight for an NFL Wild Card Playoff berth. The Washington Redskins lost a hard fought game at home to Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings 16-13 and their offense took a vacation.
The New York Giants and Eli Manning rallied from behind to beat the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars 28-24 and the defense played a major part in the victory. The offense was steady with Eli Manning finding Mario Manningham for one touchdown in the exciting come from behind win.
Washington Redskins Defense vs New York Giants Offense
The Washington Redskins defense has been a wreck all season with the exception of DeAngelo Hall. The 3-4 defense has been a failure although it did look better in the game against Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings. The secondary is giving up over 280 yards per game on average and that is not the worst of it. Besides their weak pass defense, the Washington Redskins are yielding over 130 yards per game on the ground.
Eli Manning and the New York Giants offense are a well balanced offense when everyone is healthy. Hakeem Nicks is out and he has developed into Manning’s favorite new number one wide receiver. With Nicks out for a few more weeks, Mario Manningham has stepped into the role of the number one wide receiver on the team. Manningham and Kevin Boss has proved to be Manning’s most reliable targets on offense. The New York Giants offense has the edge over the Washington Redskins defense.

Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck are the heart and soul of this New York Giants defense and as they go so goes the entire New York Giants team. The last few weeks they have struggled and so has the team. In this game against the Washington Redskins they will be playing a foe that they know well and it will be hard for Donovan McNabb to breath, let lone get space in this game.
Donovan McNabb and the Washington Redskins have won five games with what can only be called a rag tag assortment of offensive players. Santana Moss is a true number one wide receiver in the NFL but after Moss and Chris Cooley, McNabb is very limited. The running game is averaging less then 100 yards per game and McNabb is only averaging 235 yards per game through the air. This game will be about the two defensive units. The New York Giants defense has the edge over the Washington Redskins offense.
