Donovan McNabb must love the irony of playing The St Louis Rams and their $50 million quarterback September 26th. McNabb had a stellar day but lost to the Houston Texans last week, throwing for 422 yards. McNabb has no offensive weapons of merit to speak of making his performance last weekend for the Washington Redskins even more impressive.
Passing Attacks for St Louis Rams & Washington Redskins Both Works in Progress
Sam Bradford had a decent first two games as a rookie NFL quarterback for the St Louis Rams and he is making progress as he adjusts to the speed of the NFL. Bradford has already shown progress in pocket awareness in his first two games and has made the most of time under center. Passing to the running backs on check downs and hitting his receivers on short crossing routes has been Bradford’s forte to this point for the St Louis Rams.
A passing attack needs a good stable of receivers and the Washington Redskins are seriously lacking in that department. Number one receiver Santana Moss and tight end Chris Cooley have the best hands and speed of the receivers which include Joey Galloway as the number two wide receiver. Donovan McNabb has shown he can make it work with what he has but one has to wonder how good he could be with a legitimate number one receiver. Passing attack edge goes to the Washington Redskins.
Running Games for Both Washington Redskins & St Louis Rams Are Important to Success
Steven Jackson, the St Louis Rams powerful hard hitting running back knew coming into this season that the offense would be on his back. Jackson has had two decent games but not the break through game he needs to have to lead the St Louis Rams to their first win on the 2010 NFL season,
The Washington Redskins running game was believed to be a two headed monster before the season began. Larry Johnson was brought in to take some of the carries from workhorse Clinton Portis. Portis has been the man to this point but now he is listed with an injury heading into this game. Running game edge goes to the St Louis Rams over the Washington Redskins.
