Turnovers played a key role in Week 2 as a couple of top 10 teams in the NFL Power Rankings fell to the underdog. The Patriots gave up three turnovers in the second half and were stymied by the New York Jets, who came away with a victory. The Patriots still managed to hang on to the number 2 slot. The Saints had a poor showing against the 49ers in Candlestick Park, and held onto number one despite losing a few points. A surprise 0-2 team, the Dallas Cowboys dropped a few places to number 14 with another disappointing loss.
Games in NFL Week 3 feature some keen match ups in JAMcLynne’s NFL Power Rankings. Here is a break down of the NFL games in Week 3.
Winner in BOLD
San Francisco 49ers (61.79) at Kansas City Chiefs (46.88)
Look for the 49ers to get the win in Kansas City.
Dallas Cowboys (75.09) at Houston Texans (81.33)
A week or two ago, I would have said that this would have been an easy game for the Cowboys. But after the Cowboys have lost their first two starts, this game is no gimme. In fact, the NFL Power Rankings software that I created now have the Texans rated higher than the Cowboys.
Tennessee Titans (65.46) at New York Giants (71.89)
The Giants will barely have home field advantage when the Titans come to play at New Meadowlands Stadium. If Vince Young, or whoever that other guy is that is that replaced him last week hangs onto the football, the Titans just might win.
Pittsburgh Steelers (74.08) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (45.56)
With Byron Leftwich at the helm, the Steelers should grab the win with a stifling Steeler defense in Tampa Bay.
Detroit Lions (30.30) at Minnesota Vikings (86.45)
Brett Favre finally gets first win in 2010 against the rival Detroit Lions.
Atlanta Falcons (72.63) at New Orleans Saints (100.49)
The Superdome is the Saints home turf and they should be able to dominate the Falcons in week 3 of the NFL season.
Cleveland Browns (35.57) at Baltimore Ravens (79.70)
Browns will do nothing against the Ray Lewis led Ravens defense.
Buffalo Bills (41.47) at New England Patriots (92.15)
The Patriots will be out looking to take revenge on any AFC East team they can get their hands on. Next victim: the Buffalo Bills.
Cincinnati Bengals (66.47) at Carolina Panthers (57.080
Carolina is off to a rough start with a non-existent passing game. Owens and Ochocinco should have break-out games as long as they do not fight for the ball.
Washington Redskins (61.66) at St Louis Rams (23.84)
The Redskins surprised the Cowboys in Week 1, then had a letdown in Week 2. They should have no problems against the Rams.
Philadelphia Eagles (81.86) at Jacksonville Jaguars (54.98)
Michael Vick makes another start for the Eagles, and they should win in Jacksonville.
San Diego Chargers (84.49) at Seattle Seahawks (48.6)
Chargers continue to roll in Seattle.
Oakland Raiders (33.21) at Arizona Cardinals (66.9)
Common sense would dictate a close score between the Cardinals and the Raiders, but not according to JAMcLynne’s Week 3 NFL Power Rankings.
Indianapolis Colts (88.45) at Denver Broncos (68.06)
Colts win their second game in a row to negate a tough start to the 2010 NFL season.
New York Jets (82.53) at Miami Dolphins (64.56)
Jets may not have as easy of a time down in Miami as JAMcLynne’s NFL Power Ranking show.
Green Bay Packers (91.15) at Chicago Bears (71.03)
Two legendary times meet up at a legendary field on Monday Night Football. This should be a good and close game. The Bears are probably a little weaker team than JAMcLynne’s NFL Power Ranking software dictate.
