Week 6 – QB Rankings
1. Peyton Manning – Ind = @Was
Excellent matchup for Manning this week, as the Redskins pass defense is statistically the third worst in the entire NFL so far this season, giving up an average of 298 passing yards per game. With a Colts running game that is injury riddled right now, Manning should once again lead the Colts offense this week. 300-350 passing yards and 2-3 touchdowns.
2. Philip Rivers – SD = @StL
Through five games this season, Rivers has been absolutely terrorizing defenses through the air. Averaging an astounding 351 passing yards per game, to go along with a total of 11 touchdown passes to just 4 interceptions so far this season, Rivers has been a better fantasy football QB than the big three of Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers up to this point in the season. With a matchup against a Rams defense that just got shredded through the air by Shaun Hill last week, Rivers should easily be looking at stats in the range of 300 passing yards and 2-3 touchdowns.
3. Drew Brees – NO = @TB
Not exactly playing like the Drew Brees we have gotten accustomed to watching over the past half decade, but he is still putting up above average stats as a fantasy football QB so far this season. A matchup against the so-so Buccaneers defense should have Brees venturing into the 250-300 passing yard and 2 touchdown stat range in this game.
4. Donovan McNabb – Was = Ind
McNabb has not been anything special as a fantasy football QB so far this season, but he somehow just seems to do a solid job week in and week out. After posting 357 passing yards against a banged up Green Bay defense last week, McNabb could once again be looking at a 300 plus passing yard game this week against a Colts defense that has been decimated by injuries. 275-325 passing yards and 2 touchdowns is well within reach for McNabb.
5. Aaron Rodgers – GB = Mia
After sustaining a concussion in last weeks game, Rodgers’ playing status for this game could be up in question. Especially considering the fact that Jay Cutler just sat out last weeks game because of a concussion he sustained the week before. Assuming Rodgers plays, he should be looking at stats in the range of 250-300 passing yards and 1-2 touchdowns in this game.
6. Tom Brady – NE = Bal
Not an easy matchup, but playing at home should definitely help Brady and the Patriots offense in this game. And to tell you the truth, I really do not expect the absence of Randy Moss to hurt the Patriots passing game much if at all. The talent at receiver is clearly there for the Patriots, with guys like Brandon Tate, Aaron Hernandez, Julian Edelman, and Rob Gronkowski all looking and deserving of more playing time. 250-300 passing yards and 1-2 touchdowns.
7. Jay Cutler – Chi = Sea / injury ?
Assuming Cutler is back to full strength for this game, he could easily be looking at a 300 yard passing day, as the Seahawks defense has allowed an average of 302 passing yards per game so far this season. If all goes well, Cutler should tally stats in the range of 250-325 passing yards and 1-2 touchdowns.
8. Ben Roethlisberger – Pit = Cle — SLEEPER / WAIVER WIRE PICKUP
Back from suspension and playing in his first game of the season, Roethlisberger has an excellent matchup that should allow him make an immediate impact in fantasy football leagues this week. 250-300 passing yards and 1-2 touchdowns is easily within reach for Roethlisberger in this game.
9. Tony Romo – Dal = @Min
With Dallas struggling mightily to win games right now, a matchup against the Vikings in Minnesota will not likely do them any favors. However for fantasy football teams, since the Cowboys should struggle to run the ball with their rushing attack, Romo will be relied on for most of the offensive yardage and any type of scoring that the Cowboys plan on doing in this game. 225-275 passing yards, 1-2 touchdowns, and an interception or two is also very likely.
10. Eli Manning – NYG = Det
A solid game from Manning last week will likely have fantasy teams riding high on him this week with a matchup against Detriot. However I would be a bit cautious, as the Lions pass defense really has not been all that bad lately. 225-275 passing yards and 1-2 touchdowns.
11. Matt Schaub – Hou = KC
Combining the fact that Schaub and the Texans offense has struggled in the passing game lately, and the fact that the Chiefs defense held down Peyton Manning last week, could mean another down game stat wise for Schaub this week.
12. Joe Flacco – Bal = @NE
13. Matt Ryan – Atl = @Phi
14. Matt Cassel – KC = @Hou — SLEEPER / SPOT STARTER
15. Josh Freeman – TB = NO — SLEEPER / SPOT STARTER
16. Kevin Kolb – Phi = Atl
17. Brett Favre – Min = Dal
18. Mark Sanchez – NYJ = @Den
19. Kyle Orton – Den = NYJ
20. David Garrard – Jac = Ten
21. Shaun Hill – Det = @NYG
22. Sam Bradford – StL = SD
23. Chad Henne – Mia = @GB
24. Vince Young – Ten = @Jac — SLEEPER / SPOT STARTER
25. Alex Smith – SF = Oak — SLEEPER / SPOT STARTER
26. Matt Hasselbeck – Sea = @Chi
27. Bruce Gradkowski – Oak = @SF
28. Seneca Wallace – Cle = @Pit
29. Jason Campbell – Oak = @SF
30. Matthew Stafford – Det = @NYG
31. Jake Delhomme – Cle = @Pit
32. Michael Vick – Phi = Atl
33. Charlie Batch – Pit = Cle
Carson Palmer – Cin = BYE
Jimmy Clausen – Car = BYE
Ryan Fitzpatrick – Buf = BYE
Max Hall – Ari = BYE
Derek Anderson – Ari = BYE
Matt Moore – Car = BYE
