There was some re-shuffling in the top 5 teams in JAMcLynne’s NFL Power Rankings as the New Orleans Saints surged back into the upper echelon of the rankings. Dropping out of the top five were the Baltimore Ravens with their loss to the New England Patriots.
Otherwise, other top ranked NFL teams predicted by JAMcLynne’s NFL Power Rankings software remained about the same. The Steelers moved up, hardly dominating a bad Cleveland Browns team. The Dallas Cowboys slid further into the abyss, and unless they shape up, they just might not make the playoffs this season. The Dallas Cowboys have a chance of redemption if they can beat the New York Giants in Week 7.
I think that the output from JAMcLynne’s NFL Power Ranking software was a little hard on the Washington Redskins, and a little too easy on the Dallas Cowboys. The NFL games in Week 7 should start to sort all of that out. Both of these teams have tough opponents in the upcoming NFL schedule, with the Redskins facing the Bears, and the Cowboys playing against the Giants.
The bottom of the barrel of JAMcLynne’s NFL Power Rankings has the usually suspects, the Bills, Raiders, and Browns. The Carolina Panthers should be down there at the bottom as well.
All Winners have JAMcLynne’s NFL Power Ranking in Bold Letters.
NFL Schedule Week 7
Sun, Oct 24 All Times (ET)
Cleveland Browns 30.45 at New Orleans Saints 91.48
Superdome 1:00 PM
Saints slaughter the Browns, at least according to JAMcLynne’s Power Rankings.
Jacksonville Jaguars 49.99 at Kansas City Chiefs 59.53
Arrowhead Stadium 1:00 PM
The Jaguars will be banged up, coming off a NFL Monday Night Football melt-down. The Chiefs should be winners in this NFL Week 7 contest.
Washington Redskins 48.3 at Chicago Bears 55.08
Soldier Field 1:00 PM
A classic NFC showdown at Soldier Field. While not quite rivals, the Redskins and Bears play each other tough. Look for the Bears to have the slight advantage.
Pittsburgh Steelers 82.03 at Miami Dolphins 63.28
Sun Life Stadium 1:00 PM
Ben Roethlisberger got a nice pre-season-like warm up game against the Cleveland Browns. The competition will be stiffer when the Steelers travel down to Miami. If Big Ben clears the cobwebs, then it should be a win for the Steelers.
Cincinnati Bengals 54.25 at Atlanta Falcons 66.22
Georgia Dome 1:00 PM
The Atlanta Falcons return to the Georgia Dome, and will be looking for a win against TO and company.
St Louis Rams 40.44 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 37.23
Raymond James Stadium 1:00 PM
The St. Louis Rams won, yet their stats were abysmal. They should start moving up in the NFL Power Rankings with another victory under their belt when Week 8 rolls around.
Buffalo Bills 32.87 at Baltimore Ravens 75.51
M&T Bank Stadium 1:00 PM
Ravens romp the Bills at home.
San Francisco 49ers 48.94 at Carolina Panthers 40.63
Bank of America Stadium 1:00 PM
The Niners should have a little confidence now that they have a win under their belt. Perhaps the Panthers worked on their offense a little during the bye week, which may make this game close.
Philadelphia Eagles 83.54 at Tennessee Titans 80.96
LP Field 1:00 PM
The Eagles have a quarterback conundrum that is a coach’s dream. If the Eagle’s defense is able to get its act together, they just may be knocking on the the Patriots doorstep for the #1 spot in JAMcLynne’s NFL Power Rankings. First, they will need to get by a surging Tennessee Titans.
Arizona Cardinals 59.9 at Seattle Seahawks 55.24
Qwest Field 4:05 PM
One can only wonder which Cardinal or Seahawk team will show up for this match up.
Oakland Raiders 30.93 at Denver Broncos 57.33
Invesco Field at Mile High 4:15 PM
Oakland sank last week, and will travel to the Mile High City to take on the Broncos. Look for the Broncos to rebound with a victory in this heated NFL rivalry.
New England Patriots 92.06 at San Diego Chargers 78.04
Qualcomm Stadium 4:15 PM
The New England Patriots squeaked by a highly ranked Baltimore Ravens and hang onto the the #1 position in JAMcLynnes NFL Power Rankings. As long as the Patriots keep winning they should stay at #1 in Week 8.
Minnesota Vikings 83.02 at Green Bay Packers 63.5
Lambeau Field 8:20 PM
Brett Favre returns to his old haunts with the Jenn Sterger scandal on his mind. Fresh off a big win against the Cowboys, the Vikings should come out with a victory against the lagging Green Bay Packers.
Mon, Oct 25 Stadium Time (ET)
New York Giants 78.32 at Dallas Cowboys 69.68
Cowboys Stadium 8:30 PM
The Giants travel to Cowboys Stadium to take on a raging mad Dallas football team. An embarrassed 1-4 Cowboys team will try redeem their season and chances in the NFC East. If the Giants defense is ready for an onslaught by Romo and Friends, then the G-Men should come out on top.
