Week 7 – TE Rankings
1. Vernon Davis – SF = @Car / injury ?
With Antonio Gates injured and Dallas Clark on a bye, Davis easily earns the #1 fantasy football TE ranking this week. Targeted often by Alex Smith, Davis should be good for stats in the range of 75-100 receiving yards with a touchdown clearly within reach as well.
2. Tony Gonzalez – Atl = Cin
Considering that the Bengals defense has two excellent cornerbacks in Leon Hall and Jonathan Joseph covering Roddy White, to go along with a solid run defense, it looks like Gonzalez will be the primary beneficiary in this game. It would not be surprising to see Gonzalez lead the Falcons in receiving, as numbers in the range of 5-8 receptions for 75-100 receiving yards and 1 touchdown is possible.
3. Brent Celek – Phi = @Ten
With Kevin Kolb at QB and DeSean Jackson likely not playing, Celek should see plenty of passes his way in this game. Excepting stats in the range of 75-100 receiving yards is likely, and a touchdown is definitely possible.
4. Tony Moeaki – KC = Jac
Having Dwayne Bowe breakout with a huge game last week was encouraging for the Chiefs passing game, and if you look below the surface, having a receiver like Bowe playing well and demanding defenses attention, the quarterback friendly Moeaki should actually see even more open space in the secondary. Combine in a matchup against a terrible Jaguars pass defense, and Moeaki should be a top 5 scoring fantasy football TE this week. 50-100 receiving yards is likely, and a touchdown is absolutely within reach as well.
5. Antonio Gates – SD = NE / injury ?
Easily the best fantasy football TE so far this season, Gates’ ankle injury make him a sketchy play this week. The matchup against the Patriots defense is encouraging for the Chargers passing attack, but who knows just how much Gates will be able to play, if at all.
6. Zach Miller – Oak = @Den
If Bruce Gradkowski is back as the starting QB in this game, then Miller is an even better fantasy football TE option this week.
7. Jason Witten – Dal = NYG
The ever steady Witten should once again tally his 50-75 receiving yards.
8. John Carlson – Sea = Ari
Solid matchup for the Seahawks passing attack, and Carlson could have a breakout game. Target him if you are looking for a waiver wire pickup and starting replacement for either Dallas Clark or Dustin Keller this week.
9. Kellen Winslow – TB = StL
Pretty good matchup for the Buccanneers offense, but the Rams defense has been playing better than anyone could have excepted.
10. Aaron Hernandez – NE = @SD
Hernandez’s role should continue to grow in the Patriots offense.
11. Marcedes Lewis – Jac = @KC
As a touchdown machine this season, Lewis should be Garrard’s first passing option in this game, as Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers should shut down Mike Sims-Walker.
12. Chris Cooley – Was = @Chi / injury ?
After sustaining a head injury in last weeks game, Cooley’s status for this game is up in the air.
13. Jeremy Shockey – NO = Cle
14. Todd Heap – Bal = Buf
Excellent matchup makes Heap a solid spot starter this week.
15. Visanthe Shiancoe – Min = @GB
16. Greg Olsen – Chi = Was
17. Jermaine Gresham – Cin = @Atl
18. Heath Miller – Pit = @Mia
19. Ben Watson – Cle = @NO
20. Andrew Quarless – GB = Min
21. Fred Davis – Was = @Chi
22. Rob Gronkowski – NE = @SD
23. Shawn Nelson – Buf = @Bal
24. Ben Patrick – Ari = @Sea
25. Kevin Boss – NYG = @Dal
26. Bo Scaife – Ten = Phi
27. Michael Hoomanawanui – StL = @TB
28. Ed Dickson – Bal = Buf
29. Daniel Fells – StL = @TB
30. Anthony Fasano – Mia = Pit
31. Jared Cook – Ten = Phi
32. Travis Beckum – NYG = @Dal
Dallas Clark – Ind = BYE
Dustin Keller – NYJ = BYE
Owen Daniels – Hou = BYE
Tony Scheffler – Det = BYE
Brandon Pettigrew – Det = BYE
