Episode 7 then cuts to the present with a mom and dad discussing their children who are scuba diving. The kids emerge carrying jar from the sunken ship. While their examining it shatters in the girls hands. The opening credits of “House” season 7, episode 7 then play.
After “House” season 7, episode 7’s opening credits end the episode opens to House walking in on Foreman and Taub in the men’s room. He presents them the new case which is thought to be the first small pox case in 30 years. Martha Masters the team’s new member and Taub then examine the girl. Masters again driven by her need for the truth tells the girl she may have small pox despite Taub clearly not thinking this was wise.
Meanwhile House goes to do clinic duty but is stopped by Cuddy who tells him if he has a case, he shouldn’t be in the clinic. House is suspicious of this and worries she may know he lied to her in the last episode of season 7 of “House”. At this point a Wilson side story is introduced in “House” season 7, episode 7. Wilson is treating a 6 year old cancer patient when House pages him to talk. The girl is missing her stuffed lamb and won’t do treatment without it so Wilson has her mom run to get it while a nurse watches the girl and Wilson talks with House.
House talks to Wilson about it who says he should just keep his mouth shut. At this point a Wilson side story is introduced in “House” season 7, episode 7. Wilson is treating a 6 year old cancer patient when House pages him to talk. The girl is missing her lamb and won’t do treatment without it so Wilson has her mom run to get it while a nurse watches the girl and Wilson talks with House. House then goes back to hear what the team has found. They feel it’s not small pox but House does, during their discussion House asks Martha about his problem with Cuddy without naming names. She leads him to believe Cuddy is being nice so he’ll just go away.
The team goes to run further tests and House goes to talk to Cuddy. He tells her what he’s done and she expresses how mad she is at him even though he feels he’s done nothing wrong. Cuddy tells House to leave.
While examining the 16 year old girl Taub finds white spots behind her knee and is then convinced she does have small pox. He calls the CDC. Masters then finds a rash in her armpit which leads House to believe it is not small pox.
Back to the Wilson side story the episode cuts to Wilson having lunch with his girlfriend Sam. They get into a small argument over House as Sam feels he is right and Cuddy is wrong. As they are parting ways the hospital is locked down by the CDC and House and his team are no longer allowed access to the patient. A CDC doctor named Broda played by Dylan Baker takes over the case.
House at Martha’s suggestion decides to continue trying to solve the case anyway. He gets a PFD of the Dutch slave ships captains log sent over because if he can diagnose the slaves he can solve the case. The records are in Dutch so House has a Dutch online stripper translate. Based on the log House pulls Foreman aside to try to get proof of the diagnosis. While trying to talk the CDC doctor into letting him have access to the patient the girl’s dad complains of head pain and begins bleeding from the nose. The CDC doctor feels this is proof of small pox and won’t let Foreman in.
House, not to stopped, then formulates a new plan and pulls Chase aside to have him lie to the CDC doctor. Martha interrupts insulted that House doesn’t trust her. She says he doesn’t need to lie and asks him to let her try the truth first. It works and the CDC doctor agrees to let the scan the dad’s brain to confirm their suggested diagnosis of TB.
Back with Wilson we find the little girl with cancer’s mom has been locked out by the CDC. Wilson and Sam attempt to get her to go through with her treatment without her lamb but fail. They even try buying an identical lamb, but the girl figures it out and becomes angry at them.
“House” episode 7 then cuts back to House and the team again when the dad suddenly develops the white patches as well and the CDC doctor no longer allows them to test for TB. Determined to figure it out without lying Martha tries to go in and examine the girl further. The CDC doctor won’t let her but she notices through the glass the girl has no lesions on her feet or hands. This leads House to feel his diagnosis is right, so much so he bursts into the containment room when the CDC doctor won’t let him go in, in a suit to treat the father. The CDC doctor then won’t let House out. Cuddy comes to talk to House and expresses worry. They have a moment.
Again back on the Wilson side story Sam talks with the little girl with cancer explaining how she’s not good with kids and she’s sorry that she lied, but that her mom needs her to get better. The little girl agrees to treatment.
House talks with the dad who is getting worse despite the treatment. He tells him he should say his good byes. The father flat lines while telling his family he loves them. House tries to save him but fails. House then becomes scared as he feels it is small pox. The CDC doctor won’t transfer him out of the room which greatly increases his risk of getting small pox.
House’s team discusses this and Martha feels they have to keep trying. She contacts the Dutch stripper again to further investigate the slave ships logs. She discovers the captain had a cat that went bald just before dying. This leads her to believe the ship wasn’t infected with small pox but rickettsialpox.
She quickly attempt to get the CDC doctor to check the dad’s body for a tell tale sign of rickettsialpox that differs from small pox. He says no, he’s sure it’s small pox. Martha asks House to check the body, who can’t do so with his gloves. After some assurance from Martha he’s so sure it’s not small pox again he removes his gloves to find the proof they need. The patient is diagnosed and cured. The hospital is re-opened.
“House” season 7, episode 7 ends with House talking to Cuddy who reveals she’s still mad at him because he’s not dying anymore. The Wilson side story then ends with Wilson reuniting the treated girl with her mother and commenting to Sam that she should get pregnant.
