Need to know what time your local Post Office closes?
There is no single answer. The United States Postal Service (USPS) which delivers 177 billion pieces of mail every year, operates a total of 36,400 post offices and locations throughout the country.
The post offices have various operating hours, so there really is no one-size-fits-all answer. How then do we find out the hours for your local post office? Let’s get right to it and find out!
First, let’s go the the USPS official website, which is available at this link. Unfortunately, the site doesn’t display any sort of directory to the business or operating hours of its offices.
So, you’ll have to find it manually. Click on “Locate a Post Office” at the top of the page. That will bring you to this page.
Use the services locator to find your local Post Office location. To do so, just type in a street address or type in a city, state, or ZIP code.
Once you hit the “Search” button, you’ll be redirected to a page with a map showing all the Post Office locations in the area.
The name of that particular Post Office, along with its address and phone numbers, are displayed on the right-hand side of the page. The location’s business hours will be located in the middle column. For example, it should look something like this, under the bold “Business Hours” header:
Keep in mind, again, that different location will typically have different hours. Some are open on Saturday, and some aren’t.
