So many people wind up in the same quandary often more often than not about what to do about nothing going on. There is but one word for the answer to this dilemma and that word is PREPARE. What? Prepare for what, you say. Prepare for a change, a major change. The reason things never seem to get going is because when things slow down we get short-sighted and slow down too. Then life begins to change as it will but it has us sitting on our butts and we are never prepared for the least of what this abundant life can offer. So not being ready for change makes us unable to do anything and doing nothing disables us further from being able to do anything at the next opportunity so the vicious cycle goes over and over in a long lull of nothing to do.
I say to you to prepare yourself for change in times seeming like nothing is happening because this nothing is Always the prelude to changes to come. And it does not matter what change you prepare yourself for, for that is the very change you will make and who would prepare themselves for changes they didn’t want to have happen anyway. This is a marvelous miracle life with 1000 times the content of what is seen, known and understood-unseen, unknown and not understood. This is not the kind of science you could put in any school book yet I challenge you to put it to the test. You don’t need even to wait for nothing going on to simply prepare for change because of the givens in this life, change is surely one of them.
Start with goals, interests, aspirations whatever moves you to put forth an effort for betterment and begin preparing yourself for it right now. No matter what it is. Now with your preparation you gain a kind of potential- a kind of higher ground. As life moves from its season of slow paced and tranquil to its next enfolding development, change will occur and you will be occupying the ship at the helm so to speak. You will be in a position of knowing your intention, knowing your needs, knowing your obstacles and ready to receive. It is this very process of preparation, as miraculous as it seems, that brings about the very change for it.
I must tell you though that this technique for filling an otherwise empty life is not the answer, it is just what you could do instead. The real answer lies in discovering who you really are. Then there would be no need to fill emptiness with anything because you would never be without yourself and that is fullness in itself. There are two authors I recommend who write on the subject of spiritual awakening and their names are Vernon Howard and Guy Finley. I owe them each more than I will ever have for I have come to Know Myself.
