For women who are on the market, one of the keys for a successful first date is to dress number one – classy, and number two, like yourself. You don’t need to run out and buy a new outfit. You don’t need to show much skin. This isn’t the time to show off your sexy assets. Focus on simplicity and perhaps just a couple of extra touches. Here are some outfit ideas for women for the best first date ever.
DIFFERENT DATES, DIFFERENT ATTIRE
This is a pretty casual evening, so long as you don’t eat at a five star restaurant. Put on what you usually do on a casual afternoon. I would go for a nice pair of jeans with a cute t-shirt. For shoes I’d probably wear sneakers or cute sandals (depending on the weather and my mood). Lastly I would top it off with a sweater. As for makeup, it would be minimal but absolutely perfectly done. Same with hair- I’d want it to look my very best. This is my personal style, and just a suggestion.
For this first date you’ll want to dress it up just a bit more. I would go with a cute, semi-casual dress, sweater and heels or flats. Nothing too short, remember you want him to like your personality and see you for what you are. Again, remember to keep the hair and makeup simple but flawlessly done.
Ice Skating Date
So either you’re a pretty good ice skater or, if you’re like me, you fall on your rear a lot. Some great outfit ideas for this date could be jeans with a cute tee, sweater and gloves; or you could also wear some (super cute) sweats if you’re not as prone to falling; leggings with a dark miniskirt and chic top with jacket would also look amazing. Don’t forget to top your look of with a warm hat (if you like), mittens (a must!) and a cute scarf. Remember not to take your fashion sense too seriously here…you’re only ice skating!
Night on the Town Date
If you’re planning to go out in the city at night and visit a few clubs after dinner, then it’s time to glam it up. A cute dress, heels and voluminous hair is essential! I also recommend using a little heavier hand with your eye makeup. A smoky eye and shiny lip look isn’t difficult to do and would look great with your ensemble. Remember to keep your look classy and glam since this is still technically a first date.
Sporting Event Date
This is a great first date. Look for cute and casual and gear your look depending on the weather conditions. This would be a suitable time to wear a well-fitting team jersey or other sports apparel. You can find some really adorable sports tops on Amazon here. Go easy on the accessories. Some ideas are: hoop earrings, sparkly studs, one cute bangle or a nice watch. If you go nuts with your jewelry, it will distract from the casual, fun look.
Be sure things match.
Be sure your colors all compliment each other and aren’t too distracting. If you try to blend too many eye-catching things all of the attention may be too much on what you’re wearing instead of you. The clothing and accessories are simply to compliment and highlight your lovely physique. So pay attention to the textures, prints and styles you combine.
Being comfortable is important.
Be sure that what you wear is something that won’t kill your happy-first-date mood. A man isn’t going to have as much fun with a woman who is limping on him for support because of her painful five-inch heels or clinging onto him because she is freezing. This is your first date and you need to be comfortable and independent so you can focus on getting to know him.
To sum it all up, whatever you wear, be sure that you are dressing in something you truly enjoy. Don’t wear something because someone else likes it if it isn’t ‘you’. Have fun and let your wonderful personality shine out in your style for a great first (and lasting!) impression.
