If you living in Maryland, or if you are just visiting Maryland, then you may want to visit some of the animals! There are a few places to see the animals, ranging from farms to the zoo, and more! Some of them may cost a price to get in, while places such as the park are free! Of course you should always be careful when going near animals, but seeing them can be really nice for the whole family!
If you are interested in where to see the animals in Maryland, then here are five locations that will let you get a glimpse of various land and sea animals!
Green Meadows Farm.
Green Meadows Farm is actually located in two areas of Maryland: Jessup, Maryland and Frederick, Maryland. It has many farm animals at their petting farm for you to get up close and interact with. A few of their animals include pigs, goats, sheep, and chickens.
The Maryland Zoo.
The Maryland Zoo is located in Druid Hill Park. You can see various animals at this zoo, such as polar bears, birds, elephants, giraffes, tigers, monkeys, turtles, lions, rhinoceros, and much more! In addition to seeing and learning about the animals, you can jump on the lily-pads, go through pretend caves, sit in a giant bird’s nest, and more.
National Aquarium in Baltimore.
The National Aquarium in Baltimore is located right in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. You can see the various animals that live in the sea! Sea animals include fish, turtles, sharks, dolphins, jelly fish, and more. You can even purchase tickets to watch an amazing dolphin show! But watch out if you sit in the first few rows, as you may get a splash from these adorable dolphins!
The Park.
Of course, going to a park is a choice for seeing animals. You can find a few local parks, such as Patterson Park, or state parks such as North Point. Other parks include Cox Point and Fort Howard. Some of these parks are free, while some state parks may require a small charge for parking. These parks may not specialize in showing you various animals, but that does not mean you won’t see any during a picnic or a stroll. Animals that can be seen in various parks include squirrels, ducks, and other birds. For safety reasons, you should not get too close to these animals, as this is not a type of zoo and you do not know how the animals may react.
Webers Farm.
Webers Farm is located in Parkville, Maryland. They have a few animals you can see (and some you can even feed), including a turkey and goats. In addition, they do have various other activities, such as a hayride, slide, and bakery. But you can get a glimpse of a few animals here.
