White Water Bay is a water park that is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma just off of I-40. This is a great place to take the kids for a day of fun! You can purchase a one time pass to go here or even get a season pass if you live in the area. They offer a double park season pass that will get you into White Water and Frontier City both. This is a great deal because if you go more than two times in the season it will pay for itself. You can also watch local Dr. Pepper cans for discounts for these parks.
This water park is open from Mid May – Mid September every single year. They offer what they call Dive-In movies where you can lay in the pool and watch a movie on the big screen. They do this several times during the summer. You can rent a cabana for the entire day if you want privacy. They also offer locker and tube rentals. You will need tubes for many of the rides, but you can rent them or wait in line to get one of the several they offer to borrow. Renting your own tube does save time, but then you have to keep track of it all day long.
White Water Bay is fun for all ages. They have rides that young children and older adults with both enjoy. This is a great place to take the family for the day. The Kid’s Cove is perfect for younger children to play around with fountains and slides. Another pool is called Ship Wreck Island and the kids can go across the lily pads and even go down two body slides. They have a Lazy River and also Castaway Creek. Both are fun to go down on a tube. On Castaway Creek, it can speed up a bit sometimes though. I have been dumped a time or two going down a rock slide in this area, but it was all in good fun. The Big Kahuna is a ride made for four people to go down together on a huge tube. We waited in a huge line for this one and do have to admit we were a bit disappointed in it.
For the more adventurous in your family, they offer the Acapulco Cliff Dive which is a free fall slide. They also have several other slides to include The Bermuda Triangle that go faster and can be a lot of fun. If you have smaller children, you might need to skip these or take another adult with you to watch them for a minute while you have your fun. Most of the slides end in a shallow area and they have lifeguards all over the place.
One pool located here is the wave pool. It is a huge pool that every so often they will turn waves on it. These waves get a bit crazy. It can be a lot of fun, but it only has a few lifeguards around it and so if you take a child who is not a strong swimmer you need to keep a good eye on them in this area.
White Water Bay is a definite must see if you are visiting the Oklahoma City area. Enjoy a fun trip here next time you are in the area!
