Most women are highly sexual beings, but sometimes your sexual libido might be feeling lower than usual. Why is this? Honestly life can sometimes get in the way, and your sexual urges as a woman can wane. This can last for a tiny bit, or it can last for awhile. It all depends why your sex drive is low. Here are many reasons why your sexual libido might be low:
One of the number one reasons why your sexual libido might be low is because of stress. Stress can do a huge number on your body. Not only is stress a mental thing, but it is also very much a physical thing too. When your body is full of stress your body just shuts down including your sex drive. In order to restart your sex drive again you may want to try to get rid of the stress in your life.
It is so common in a woman’s life to not have a super high sex drive during and after pregnancy. The reasons for this are many. First of all there are hormonal changes that just make your body physically challenged. It is a lot harder to have sex. Second your hormonal changes make you very emotional, and you just may not emotionally be up to having a strong libido. Plus, you will probably be too tired to really do anything but trying to get a good night’s rest. Do not be hard on yourself because with time your body and mind should be back to normal again so that you can once again have a higher sex drive.
Did you know that medications can really mess up your sexual libido? It is true. Certain medications have really bad side effects. One of those side effects is making your sex drive go super low. For example, tranquilizers can really hurt your libido. So watch out for prescription drugs if your sex drive seems to be off. Tell your doctor if you suspect that this is an issue for you.
There can be sexual libido issues for a woman when she reaches mid-life age. Maybe your energy just is not what it is used to be. You could just not be into sex as much because you have kind of already been there and done that kind of thing. You could just be over the whole sex thing in general. Many women are. Hormonal changes are another cause for mid-life lacking sexual libido. Many women go through menopause at this age, and their body makes so many changes that they just do not get the sexual urges like they used too because of physical and mental changes.
Let’s be honest with each other. As women we are usually highly emotional creatures. If there are relationship problems with the person you are having sex with, chances are you will not truly want to have sex with them. Sometimes your not wanting to have sex with your sexual partner shows that something is really wrong in the relationship. This can really affect your sexual libido in a big way. If you want your sex drive to go back up work out your issues that you have in your relationships.
Depression and Anxiety
Another reason is that you are depressed. Depression is pretty common for women to have too, and unfortunately when you are depressed it is very hard to have a huge sex drive. Usually when you are depressed everything feels like it takes great effort. Your serotonin levels are usually low, and serotonin is what helps to make you feel happy. Anxiety is also an issue when you are having issues with your sexual libido being low. Talk to your doctor if you experience depression or anxiety. Medical treatment is important in not only treating your low sexual libido but your mental health as well.
