Every time I need something, off to Wallyworld I go. Even though Walmart fired me back in 2004 for having pink hair (even though my hair was pink when they hired me- GRR) I boycotted this superstore for about 2 days before I was back to shopping at the very store that gave me the boot.
Every time I go to Walmart for just one little thing, say, toothpaste, I can’t help but browse and purchase something else. Hot damn- boy shorts in a 3-pack for $7, eyeliner I’ll never wear on sale! Woo hoo! Oh, maybe I’ll get some Swiss cheese and some Cheese Nips while I’m at it. I just can’t keep my grubby paws off stuff.
I go into Walmart for toothpaste, and walk out with a plethora of items I didn’t need, like towels, a cheese grader, a mixing bowl- even though I rarely cook. Sheesh. I just can’t help it.
If I can avoid going to Walmart, I do it. But Walmart is the closest grocery store to where I live, right across the street from JC Penney’s and my favorite Honks dollar store- it’s just too damn easy to drive my ass over to Wallyworld when it’s just across the street. Even if I don’t need anything, hmm…I wonder if they have those egg rolls I like so much back on their shelves? Nope- oh well, I’m already here. Might as well shop a little bit.
I end up buying yet another ScentSationals fragrance wax I don’t need, I annoy the hell out of my fiance getting yet another Pure Ice nail polish in a color so similar to a hue I already have that you can’t tell them apart. I have to wander over to the car fresheners, where I bypass them entirely by being distracted by the seat covers I always way I want but am too cheap to buy.
Walmart is like a black hole for the wallet. I hate going there because I spend so much money on stuff I don’t need (and I’m a penny pincher), yet I just can’t stand driving by this popular store. They must put something in the sanitary wipes they lovingly put out for shoppers and their carts- some kind of “spending drug”. Walmart is the only place that can make me part with my money without a second thought. Grr…
