I have lived in California all my life. I have lived in Carmel, Napa, and Sacramento. We used to have a cabin at Lake Tahoe and we would go there every summer from when I was a baby to age eighteen.
Carmel is a small town right near the ocean. It has a street called Ocean Ave where there are uniqie small stores, each having creative and gifts you won’t see in other stores. There are wonderful restaurants and if you walk all the way to the end you come to the beach which has wonderful white sand. If you are a couple this is wonderfully romantic town.
If you want to see a glorious scene go to Big Sur which is close to Carmel. The view of the ocen is breathe taking! Many artists go there for inspiration of their paintings. I have never seen anything which in comparable.
Another one of the beautiful areas is Lake Tahoe. The pine trees and mountians are captivating. The lake is still blue, which is rare these days. The hiking trails are endless with wondrous views of the lake. The beaches and lake have calming affect on me and the weather in the summer is just right. Although you may see some thunder storms at times.
There are many other sites to see. Especially San Fransisco. What can I say about this town that hasn’t been said? The Golden Gate Bridge is incredible! Especially at night. Golden Gate Park has many wonderful things to see and the entertainment abounds in the city.
I could go on – but you get the idea. If you have a chance come visit some time. I think you will find California a great state!
