What say you to two attractive, perpetually squabbling siblings inheriting a mysterious occult mission to root out evil? Does it matter that the brothers face an interesting range of paranormal enemies whom they vanquish without fail all the time with just a powerful spell and an equally powerful right hook? Come on people, it’s about defeating your enemies, paranormal or not! In addition, these brothers are excellent at that task.
You can see the appeal; two attractive young people powerful enough to avert a possible apocalypse using what remains of their high school Latin. That appeal might fade quickly if it weren’t for the packaging, the storylines and the interesting set of evil and ruthless enemies that keep spawning, never mind how many were killed.
If paranormal and supernatural shows are not your thing, if horror is not your thing, then you definitely won’t like this show. However, if you are a horror freak and you get off on biblical references and mentions of ancient names in ancient tongues, then this is a must-see show for you.
Supernatural is a totally amazing show that just anybody can watch. It deals with occult phenomena and you can watch it safely, knowing you won’t be running into this kind of evil on some lonely evening on the roads. The evil that we face in our lives is so much worse and complicated, I’ll take my Supernatural devils any old time.
Jared and Jensen are great eye candy, wonderful casting there – the fight scenes are imaginative, the demons are very inventive and the whole process of having an occult mission while living in a regular city is believable in this show. This show certainly packs a fear factor for sure; there are many episodes that just might give you sleepless nights. The show could use a bit of a pick-me-up with better scripts and more imagination but it’s an entertaining show that certainly can be watched for some easy fun.
The entire series has a grim tone and the look of a dusty world that’s perpetually in need of a good duster. That probably is intentional as it adds character to the main premise of the show, which is supernatural. You can’t compare this show with “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” or any other. This is a show that takes the several hundred horror movies of the past and puts similar scenarios into 40 minute episodes that fill your little screen.
