Hmm. Sounds interesting. Just what does a ambassador to aliens do? Don’t worry all you who lost your government jobs due to the crisis. Your lost salary is being well spent in other offices.
The BBC revealed the new and very dangerous position in the United Nations, Ambassador to Aliens. This position has initiated due that the human race around the globe may need someone to intervene as the every-increasing chance arises of life on other planets, with the discovery of hundreds on new planets around the galaxy. And, of course, this life will be more intelligent than us (if they get to Earth before humans get to them, this makes it obvious that they are more intelligent).
This is not a script off of Doctor Who. This is real stuff. What’s more, in case you weren’t aware, there is already an office in the United Nations called, “The Office for Outer Space Affairs.” Honest. Apparently, there is a lot of activity up there, namely with satellites. Someone needs to watch for meteors that may crash into Earth, too.
A lot of questions arise when one thinks of this new position. Namely, why? And how about this question, what will the ambassador do, exactly?
Will the ambassador create and alien tongue? Will they study how to best perform signs and body language to extraterrestrials? Will they welcome intruders with tea and biscuits? Well, whatever their job description, it is for our benefit and our safety. This is stated as being a highly dangerous position. Spokesmen for the UN are not expecting alien life to just drop in anywhere. They say most likely first contact will be via radio waves.
However they find us, astrophysicist Mazlan Othman will be the first to make contact for fellow citizens of Earth. Many humans are seriously disappointed, as they hoped to nominate Ozzy Osbourne for this role.
Just what is the government planning? What kind of covert operations have been conducted? Will we see upcoming proof of life on other planets? I am expecting a sudden encounter with aliens, I am.
On Monday the 27th of September on the BBC4 radio website in an article called, “We Should be Prepared for Aliens,” you can hear a snippet of a radio broadcast with Professor John Zarnecki.
How much will the ambassador to aliens make in a year? Apparently nothing. On Tuesday the 28th of September ABC News Online reported the UN offices were quick to deny the media reports that such topics of conversation ever existed.
The United Nations is asking more intelligent questions. They are fielding thoughts about deeper issues. Who owns the moon? They would like to know.
While over the decades people contemplate and go in search of intelligent life on other planets, I am still searching for intelligent life on Earth…
