Getting a better life is mainly about becoming a better person so that you can draw good things into your life, but it can be hard if you’re poor or on hard times.
We all need money to survive, but many of us get trapped in careers that we hate, and work is a burden. We see our jobs as an annoyance, and forget that they enable us to have the lives that we live. Changing what you do may be a big step in achieving the life you want.
In some cases, you may have little choice in what you have to do to pay the bills. However, what you’re doing now doesn’t have to be what you do forever, nor does it have to be the only thing you do.
If you have the option, try to make your living doing something that you love. Don’t listen to people who tell you that what you want to do is stupid, or that it is not good enough. Do what you desire to do if you possibly can. When you do something that you love, it seems less like work, and can make your entire life happier.
For the longest time, people told me that I needed to get a “real” job, because working from home wasn’t acceptable. I used to sell my crafts and other things on online auctions, and I made enough to get by on. I enjoyed it too. I tried getting what they called a “real” job, and I was miserable. Now I work for myself creating art and writing, and I am happy doing it. Am I rich yet? No, I’m not, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t find the success that I desire, if I keep working on it.
If you can’t quit your current job, or get the job of your dreams right now, don’t give up hope. Maybe you can do the work you love as a part-time supplement. Or maybe you can train in your desired field, and change jobs once you have the knowledge you need. Never give up hope, no matter how many people put down your ideas.
Working hard is something that we all need to do, but if you enjoy it, it’s so much easier. I may not be a millionaire, but I enjoy what I’m doing, I’m proud of my work, and I see my success growing steadily every day. Like they say, do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.
An important thing to remember when it comes to what you do for a living is this: If you hate what you’re doing, you’re not likely to be as good at it. Now, this may not hold true for all people. Some people can be very good at their job, and not like it at all. For most people though, you’re not likely to do your best if you don’t like what you’re doing. If you’re not proud of your work, or you don’t feel good about it, you’re less likely to excel and have real success.
You should strive to do something that you really like doing, and something that makes you feel good about yourself at the end of the day. As I said earlier, it may take time to transition, or you may be able to jump right into doing something that you love. Either way, you should aim for a career that you enjoy. And don’t think that you need to be tied down to a single thing. Some people, myself included, find happiness in doing a lot of things, so we don’t get bored.
Personally, I don’t think I could stand only doing one thing for the rest of my life. I get bored and lose inspiration quickly. For me, and for others as well, having many small jobs can be the key to happiness. I write articles and books, I create digital art, run two web stores, three blogs, and I craft all sorts of things from jewelry to clothing. No one thing makes a fortune, but all the little things add up.
Find what works for you. Whether it’s one career or lots of small jobs, find what is going to make you happy, and go for it. If you set your mind to it, you can have almost anything you set your mind to.
