The 2010 World Series schedule is ready for the ALCS and NLCS winner. Game 1 of the 2010 World Series schedule is on Wednesday, Oct. 27, when the National League winner opens the Fall Classic. The National League gets to host the 2010 World Series because they won the All Star Game this season. It will be the first time in quite a while that the National League gets to host Game 1, and it holds the potential of giving the NLCS winner a big advantage. One team, the Texas Rangers, have proven that they are really good at winning on the road though, winning three games on the road against Tampa Bay in the 2010 ALDS. Texas also won Games 3 and 4 in New York during the ALCS, so they may not even care what park they play in.
The two teams that will advance to the 2010 World Series should be determined by the weekend, with the Rangers leading the Yankees 3-1 and the Giants leading the Phillies 2-1 so far. Several teams have come back from 3-1 deficits before though, so don’t count out the teams that are behind right now. This could be a very surprising World Series if it is Texas vs. San Francisco, because many of the analysts had predicted that we would have a New York vs. Philadelphia World Series for the second straight year. It seems that the pitching for Texas and San Francisco might just be too good though, as they are really shutting down their opponents. Seeing Tim Lincecum against Cliff Lee in the World Series would certainly be intriguing.
The way that the 2010 World Series schedule will work, is that the National League team hosts the first two games, followed by three games in the American League park, and then the National league team hosts the final two games. Not all of the games will necessarily be played though, as the first team to win four of the seven games becomes the 2010 World Series champions. It would be nice to see one of the smaller market teams make it to the World Series, but fans in New York and Philadelphia probably disagree with that sentiment immensely. Either way, we are very close to finding out which two teams will play for the 2010 World Series, with all seven of the games being broadcast live on Fox when the time comes. Now we just have to wait to find out who the teams will be.
