The long rivalry between Undertaker and Kane is coming to a close on October 24 when the two brothers battle each other in a Buried Alive Match. With Paul Bearer by Kane’s side, the Undertaker has all odds against him heading into the pay per view.
Looking back at their long history, the Undertaker usually prevails over Kane, but will this time be different?
Buried Alive Matches
The Undertaker has been involved in more than four Buried Alived matches. He has taken on Mankind, The Big Show, Stone Cold Steve Austin and even Vince McMahon. Even though he has impressive bouts, the Undertaker ends up being buried the majority of the time.
With no one in his corner, the Undertaker is usually helpless as other wrestlers interfere and cause him to lose.
Kane has cost the Undertaker this match twice. In the first, a battle with Stone Cold Steve Austin was almost to a close until Kane came in and helped bury the phenom.
As Undertaker destroyed Vince McMahon in 2003, it was Kane who interfered and buried the Undertaker with a tractor. This set up their infamous match at Wrestlemania XX.
Kane clearly knows how to use outside sources and he has enlisted the help of one of the best WWE managers: Paul Bearer. Paul Bearer screwed the Undertaker at the Hell in a Cell pay per view and his presence in the match gives Kane a huge advantage.
World Heavyweight Championship
Kane’s World Heavyweight Title also gives him strength because he is going to do anything he can to hold onto it.
The Undertaker’s main goal is not about winning the title, but burying Kane once and for all. Kane weakened the Undertaker, has beat him numerous times, and the Undertaker has never struggled so much to overcome his little brother.
The Smackdown vs. Raw match at Bragging Rights will be memorable, but the conclusion to the Kane and Undertaker will become a main highlight. The Undertaker has wrestled in the WWE more than 20 years and this feud has been in the WWE for more than 10.
If the Undertaker is buried at the Bragging Rights pay per view, fans can count on his return shortly before Wrestlemania where he will likely wrestle his last match.
If Kane wins, look for his title streak to come to an end in the near future; most likely at Survivor Series or TLC.
