Judgement day has come again for the “X Factor” contestants! Last night saw an all round improvement in the level of performance but two of the budding popstars faced the chop in tonight’s results show Let’s take a look at what happened on the second “X Factor” results show.
The finalists all sang “Telephone” by Lady Gaga to open the show. They wore red and black outfits, and for once Rebecca Ferguson’s outfit stood out – she had an enormous red bow stuck to her head, slightly resembling Minnie Mouse. Cher Lloyd was great as she sang the Beyonce “rap” sequence of the song (obviously), and I momentarily loved her. Actually, she was really the only one who stood out so congrats to her!
Star guests this week were former “X Factor” contestant Diana Vickers, singing My Wicked Heart. Still can’t understand a single word she is singing but she put on a good show. Following her was Katy Perry with a performance of “Firework”. She looked beautiful, though her outfit was quite strange! It was an all in one, figure hugging jumpsuit with sparkly fireworks on it – it put me in mind of an ice skater’s outfit. If she had been judged for her singing, she may not have made the next round but the staging of the performance was gorgeous and got the crowd on their feet.
Once the fun was out of the way, it was time for the serious business of the evening. Like last week, the act with the lowest votes was immediately voted out, the next lowest two had to battle it out in the sing off.
Katie Waissel was the first to be saved and she looked very shocked and excited. One good performance does not an artist make – but clearly she managed to win over a lot of the public last night. Next through was John Adeleye, followed by Matt Cardle, Rebecca Ferguson, One Direction, Mary Byrne, Cher Lloyd, Paije Richardson, Treyc Cohen, Wagner and Aiden Grimshaw.
This left Diva Fever, Belle Amie and Storm Lee. Storm Lee was the first voted out with the lowest amount of votes. His parting words were “You haven’t seen the best of me yet, let me tell you.”
Is anyone else scared?
Diva Fever and Belle Amie went on to perform in the sing off. A big problem for Simon Cowell as both acts were in his category. Diva Fever went first singing “I Will Survive”. To be fair, only one of them has a really good voice but they gave it their best shot!
Belle Amie came onto the stage – all fully dressed this time – to sing “Big Girls Don’t Cry” by Fergie. Their performance was far superior to that of Diva Fever even though they were all very emotional.
Louis was the first to make his decision. He said he chose to send home Diva Fever because he thinks Belle Amie have more potential. Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole also opted to send home Diva Fever, saving Simon from having to choose between his acts.
Diva Fever said they have had the time of their lives and I am quite sure we haven’t quite heard the last of them yet!
So, Katie and Cher survive yet again! Maybe this will be the week the media takes things a bit easier on them! But I doubt it.
