Its time for another edition of my Yahoo: Who’s Trending Now? report and this particular sub-topic matters greatly to me. (Not that the others don’t but…more about that in a minute.) First I want to fill you in a bit if you aren’t up to date about my Yahoo fascination. You can read more about how this whole Yahoo: Trending Now? obsession began here.
But have no worries if you don’t wish to click. I will give you a short synopsis and then we will get to just why Katherine Heigl is in the #1 spot in Yahoo’s trending now section. I love Yahoo. I have had Yahoo set to my homepage since my foray into the internet began and I just plain love it.
Yahoo (the homepage) seems to cater specifically toward much of what I like – local news, weather, etc. – and though the trending now section on Yahoo’s homepage may not be just for me, I like it too. Every so often I find a subject/person that intrigues me and I feel compelled to share this information with you. Without further delay let’s find out who is trending now and why.
Drum Roll Please:
Yahoo: Who’s Trending Now? October 5, 2010
#1 This Tuesday Morning:
Katherine Heigl was on The David Letterman Show recently; touting the benefits of the electronic cigarette. It appears she has tried to quit smoking multiple times and has failed. Until now. Katherine even demonstrated how to use the electronic cigarette, explained its workings, and encouraged Dave to take a puff – he took two. You may read more about Katherine Heigl’s electronic cigarette and watch the video clip of David Letterman’s show here.
I actually wrote an article about the benefits of smoking which you may find here – The Benefits of Smoking. If you choose to read it you will discover that the benefits are…well, how about I leave that up to you?
The truth about smoking and why it is so difficult to quit is hard to answer. The issues vary from person to person. Some people enjoy the inhale; for some it’s the oral fixation; for others, the nicotine has them hooked-this list is endless and (again) with so many variations.
The Bottom Line:
Smoking cigarettes is unhealthy. And some day soon I am going to share with you how I really kicked the habit. It wasn’t easy. And it wasn’t without some mistakes, cheating, and downright misuse of will-power on my part.
I wish Katherine Heigl good luck with her electronic cigarette and I hope that someday soon she can be completely free of anything requiring her to inhale and exhale. Those benefits are worth everything, including extended life. And who doesn’t want to live longer and healthier?
