Every girl deserves a magical memory when it comes to their wedding day. I can’t imagine a more perfect setting than Walt Disney World to make that happen. And, a Disney wedding has so much more to offer than just a great location. It will provide you with a quality and attention to detail that you won’t find anywhere else. Here are the reasons why a destination wedding at Disney World would be perfect for your special day.
Ease of Planning
It was my experience that the planning could not have been smoother. In fact, we met with the Disney wedding team only twice during the four months that we planned our wedding. The first time, a consultant took us to three locations at the park where we wanted to get married. The second time, my then-fiancé and my parents accompanied me to the Disney wedding studio for a four-hour planning session. It was during this time that we met with a florist and tasted cake samples, all provided by Disney. I was so pleased to be able to focus on what I really wanted, knowing that Disney would be able to do whatever my dreams entailed.
Quality of Food and Entertainment
The food was outstanding. We had chosen a variety of foods from shrimp cocktail to filet mignon to chicken, and all were cooked perfectly. Our Disney wedding planner provided us with a list of suggested menus to choose from, as well as a list of what our entertainment options were. We chose a jazz trio for our musical needs, and even though we were a small group, the three musicians fit into our reception seamlessly.
The possibilities are endless where venues are concerned. There are time restrictions on certain theme park locations, so as not to interfere with the normal course of business. But, if you really want to get married in a particular spot, those restrictions shouldn’t matter. For example, my husband and I wanted our ceremony to be in the courtyard of the Italian pavilion at Epcot. A morning ceremony was our only option for that venue, and we took it! There is something to be said for having the World Showcase all to yourself for a few hours. Plus, it was the middle of spring and the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival was taking place, so everything around us was more beautiful as a result. Keep in mind the special events that Disney puts on throughout the year – they can enhance your wedding in ways that you might not have expected!
Attention to Detail
Everything that we wanted was done without exception. We requested to have a television and dvd player in our reception room, because we wanted to play a home movie that we made for our guests. We asked our wedding planner to incorporate pottery pieces – that were hand painted by our family at our wedding shower – into the reception area. These requests were honored and carried out in a way that was very special for us. There were numerous other details that Disney provided, like crystal mickeys in the bridal party bouquets, upgrades to accommodations at the hotels, annual passes for the bride and groom…the list goes on and on.
Excitement of your Guests
This was one of the highlights for us. The magic of Disney was infused in every single person that attended our wedding. We were all delighted by the idea of entering the theme park at a time when it wasn’t yet open to the public. We dined in a room that is not otherwise available to park guests. We were all treated like there was no one else in the world, and that made the day special for everyone.
I can’t recommend a Disney wedding enough!
