I don’t live in a ritzee neighborhood, and the drug ridden hood area is approximately 2-3 miles away from me.
However, about six blocks away from me on the other side of Davidson Road was the first location of where the “Flint Serial Stabber” slain his first victim.
Then, after all things came to a halt after the authorities took the Serial Stabber into custody, I became aware of the fact that he only lived approximately 8-10 blocks away from me!
Knowing this fact, I often ponder the question, “What made him do this to these innocent men?”
I suppose any of us could come up with some real reasons as to why anyone does such horrid things to people?
Obvisouly, the man was disturbed to the point that he had to continue on his mayhem of stabbings!
This is a bit close to me, for me to just make up excuses, not to mention those that have suffered their losses or those that had survived his brutal stabbings!
I know, if it were me in thier shoes, I would sure want some answers.
I would want answers as to why it took the police so long to catch him and this one almost got away out of the country!
Luckily, they nabbed in Atlanta just before his exit out of the country.
Of course, before he left, he had to kill a couple more people on his journey to Georgia.
It saddens my heart to know that the once Buick City Flint is now wallowing in the now known for its high murder rate and Serial Stabber!!!
I live very close to a huge empty lot where a factory once thrived and people once had perspective jobs! I watched as the old factory was torn down! One day it was there, and now it is gone!
You know what? I am not leaving, because I believe that Flint can turn around and become a new thriving city, full of life!
The new dorms are now full of University of Michigan students which is located near downtown Flint.
A clean up by Mayor Walling is now in effect. Sure will be glad to see the old worn out houses torn down and people maybe taking pride in their own neighborhood.
A newly renovated hotel just got its finishing touches and will be up and running!
I have been a part of the prayer chain days a couple times now. This was done by different organizations and churches which went from the south end of Saginaw Street to the north end of Saginaw Street which was a day set aside to have prayer and to say we are taking back Flint from the gangs, hoodlums and who ever thought that they wanted to set up the wrong things here in Flint!
So yes, something is being done and my heart can turn into a joyful praise for its future!
