Three Sisters Vineyards and Winery. This small Northeast Georgia winery produces some amazing Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Merlot and Chardonnay wines, among others. Eighteen acres of wine grapes grow on this Georgia vineyard, which is named for the Three Sisters Mountains near the property. Three Sisters is Lumpkin County’s first vineyard, and both European and French-American wine grapes flourish here. Over 13,000 grape vines are planted here, including Touriga, Vidal Blanc, Cynthiana-Norton, and many more. Be sure to try their 2006 Cynthiana, a gorgeous wine with aromas of caramel and black cherry, followed by flavors of butterscotch and blackberries. The Georgia Winery. Established in 1983, this is the oldest winery in Georgia. Family owned and operated, they offer over twenty different wines for you to taste, including Spiced Muscadine, Chanticleer (a blend of Chancellor and Chambourcin) and Bulldog Red. For an outstanding wine from this winery, try their Napoleon, which is made from DeChaunac grapes. You’ll enjoy this wine’s aromas of leather and cinnamon, followed by flavors of chocolate and cherries.
